Cancun-Interactive Acquarium

Cancun is one big resort all about water, beaches, nightlife, and vacation. There is a variety of things here to do involving numerous water sports as well as activities in the city. The city reminded me a bit of Las Vegas, with huge and beautiful resorts built one next to another, with the exception that gambling is illegal in Mexico so no casinos are to be expected. Spending time in the city that thrives on water activities, I ventured to swim with the dolphins. I surely was not dissapointed.

And a huge sting ray fish which looks very funny attached to the glass.

It's relaxing to observe these creatures.

They are definitely immersed in the world of their own.

Not much to do with the acquarium theme, but there are also several parrots here.

Finally we begin swimming with the dolhins.

Water is cold, but is is all worth it. The dolpins are friendly and obedient.

The dolphin is giving each of us a kiss! How cute..I cannot imagine how they could be trained to do this! It seems like a very difficult task to me.

He is also giving us a big "hand shake". Dolphins cannot hear so they only react to hand gestures.

The dolhpin performs all kinds of trick for us, including showing us his belly. He likes to be touched, the instructor informs us.

We are supposed to raise our hands to show him our enthusiasm and appreciation.

We go deeper into water and the dolphin swims around us.

And it is exciting to be so near him.

Normally I dont like fish swimming near me. Dolphins are different though. they are not even fish, i think..(haha sorry, I am not a biologist)

Finally, we do the push. It is when the dolphin puts his nose against our foot and pushes us fast ahead across the pool. How exciting that ride was! I loved my dolphin experience.
