Boca Chica

This small beach town is conveniently located close to the airport and the capital city of Santo Domingo. Boca Chica beach is a reef-protected lagoon of tranquil blue waters and powder-white sand. One can wade out 100 yards from shore into glassy waters and still be only waist deep with nothing but soft clean sand underfoot.

The beach sand is truly white and the water color beautifully turqoise.

It is very relaxing to just bask in the weather, the peaceful colours, and in the very fact of being in Dominican Republic!

You can rent these chairs for a couple of dollars

Palm trees, white sand...what more can you want?

Well...maybe a bit more peace? The only disadvantage of this place are people who are constantly trying to sell you stuff be it necklaces, sunglasses, cds, or pedicure services. Agrrr...

I am on the beach all by myself surrounded by darkskinned people. No wonder, I drew attention of the locals.

This guy is from Haiti. He is a medicine student.

Time for me to leave.

Beautiful palm trees are everywhere.

The highway goes alongside the Carribean sea. I pulled over to admire its color.

It is a very beautiful green-blue clolor.

Any whales or dolphins around?

It is fun to watch the locals enjoying their natural resources.
Goodbye, Boca Chica!
