San Salvador

The origins of the city can be traced to before the Spanish Conquest. San Salvador is a modern city and is the second biggest city in Central America. The downtown San Salvador is basically one big, and very busy market. Even though its a second largest city in Central America, it does not have tall buildings like Panama City, which is number one largest city in the region.

This is the area of Metrocentro-the largest shopping centre in Central America

Majority of women wear this kind of apron around their waist. I even saw one wearing it at the airport! What the..?

Busy, busy, busy....

Many cheap shoes for sale too

A lot of women carry stuff on their heads here. And no men in sight to help... Hmmm..

That would make a huge plantain pancake!

Is there any way out of it here?

Apparently not. Therefore refreshments are served for lost travellers like us. The dog apparently found something yummy in the gutter...
